« Nude » et « naked » : quelle différence ?

Nude et naked signifient tous deux en anglais : nu(e[s]). Ces termes sont synonymes.  Cependant, la plupart des usages au figuré de la notion de nudité (c’est-à-dire sans protection, sans embellissement, sans dissimulation) sont construits avec naked.

Vient du latin nudus. On l’emploie, comme naked, pour qualifier l’état de nudité d’une personne.

Vient du germanique (nakkwad, nakkwadaz). On l’emploie, comme nude, pour qualifier l’état de nudité d’une personne.
